HOT SPOTS TO "BE DISCOVERED" (Note: Sarcasm ahead)
You want to be discovered?? Like the cinderella stories you read all the time? Not everyone can be a carpenter at Stephen Spielbergs house, so, what to do, how do you get discovered in this city? As with so many things in life, you need to be at the right place, at the right time. So, hang around the following places and wait for a chance encounter with that "casting director"(aren't we all casting directors?) or producer(well, everyone in L.A.is a producer!)Beware though, because it's easy to print a Business card and talk the talk..... (You have to find the adresses yourself. Hey, if you cant do that, you not ment to be in this City in the first place) EL COYOTE This low key restaurant is packed each and every night with "industry" people. A fun fun place if you are broke anyway, because it is CHEAP! Sunset Blvd Just sitting on the Bus bench in front of a studio, actually that is a stupid advice,lol, go to a coffehouse, like the Starbucks at Gower Gulch, across from the Sunset/Gower Studios. Everybody who works there gets a javafix in the morning at this location Dinner @ Ivy at the Shore Exclusive eatery in Santa Monica(dont know if you get discovered here, but i saw Demi Moores breast's falling out of her dress during lunch. I know it wont get you the desired job, but where else on this website can i brag about this?) DO LUNCH AT THE IVY Robertson/Beverly Hills, but you know that already GO TO SOME GOSSIP WEBSITE See what club Paris or Lindsey made a fool out of themself the night before. Put a ad in backstage magazine looking for a girl to play a "part" as a sexy lady by your side and hit that club the next day HOUSTONS @ Century City Shopping Center Lunch Time Madness, All the power players are there, shouldn't you be too? (Wed: Tortilla Soup, my fave) VONS SUPERMARKET on PCH/Sunset in Malibu. Snap a picture of your favorite star without make up on and threaten to blast it all over the internet unless you get a part in there next movie GLADSTONES 4 FISH Yup, lot of Tourists, but also some "very important people" You can spot them easy, as they dont have to wait 2 hours to get that table with the ocean view DENNYS @ SUNSET/GOWER (next to Sunset/Gower Studios) ACAPULCO RESTAURANT (across NBC Studios) ASTRO BURGER (on Melrose/Gower, next to Paramount) Volunteer! Either for The L.A. AFI or any other Film Festival. APLA, Project Angel Food are great organisation with huge industry fundraiser parties every year Create a silly Ultimate L.A.Club and City Guide! HA! Stranger things have happend in this city BE A HUSTLER Not that i endorse it(it's not legal either), but it sure helped some people to become stars in L.A. Or Just Wait For Your Chance Encounter Anyway, jokes aside... I know so many Actors, who are talented , go to acting or singing classes, auditions, showcases e.t.c. I guess like everything else in life you need some talent and a lot of luck or just BE AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME! Good Luck! WATCH "THE SHIELD", STARTING APRIL 2007 ON F/X.
